OP-8™ contains a variety of organisms that have the genetic tools and soil microbes specially designed to digest petroleum hydrocarbons and other toxins from contaminated soils where chemicals have been used. If the organism has the right enzymes and biochemical pathways, those are no longer “harmful” molecules, just food waiting to be eaten.
Once the harmful materials are degraded/consumed, those tools are no longer needed, the soil can get back to “business as usual”, and we can select other microbial packages to focus on the next limiting factor: phosphorus, nitrogen, salt, root morphology, etc.
